We are now a week away from #WomeninTravel meet up taking place on 3 November 2015 at World Travel Market!
I am incredibly excited about it because I feel that this is a real opportunity for like minded professionals working in the travel and tourism industry to come together to discuss women focussed issues, exchange experiences, debate important topics, ask questions to highly knowledgeable mentors, network and have fun!
Remember that if you have registered to attend World Travel Market 2015 you can join the Women in Travel meet up for free and without any restriction!
If you have yet to register, just make sure you do this now.
So how can you make the most of this event? Here are some of my top tips for you:
1. Prepare in advance and make sure you know what is going on when
The Women in Travel meet up runs from 1330 until 1800. All sessions will be in South Gallery 16&17. It is packed full of debates, mentoring and networking. We have top speakers and mentors from the industry. Ideally, join the meeting at 1330 and stay for the rest of the afternoon. If however you cannot do that, ensure you understand what is going on when and select the events that are most relevant to you.
You can do this by checking the Women in Travel website.
Make sure also to prepare yourself by finding out as much as possible about speakers and mentors, so you can approach them, ask the relevant question, book a meeting or follow up.
2. Book a one to one mentoring session
For the first time this year we are making available one to one mentoring sessions free of charge. You can book a 15 minutes session with one or more of our fabulous mentors. Sessions are allocated on a first come first served basis though and they are going fast, but they are a great opportunity to get your questions answered by real industry experts!
If you were late to book or for any reason cannot be available at the correct time however do not despair! All or most of the mentors will be around throughout the afternoon and you will have a chance to catch up with them during networking!
3. Be ready to network
The Women in Travel meet up is meant to provide an opportunity to network, exchange ideas and make links. Come ready to network, meet and greet and have fun while doing some good business too!
You should have your networking tools with you – enough business cards at least – so you can make connections and follow up.
Make sure you introduce yourself to other attendees and spend the little time between sessions getting to know other attendees as well as talking to speakers and mentors!
We wish you all a very successful WTM 2015 and look forward to seeing you at the Women in Travel meet up for an action-packed afternoon!
